Matteo Marchisano-Adamo is an award-winning filmmaker, composer, and motion picture editor. His distinct approach to visual storytelling is informed by a rigorous background in classical performance, having trained in classical piano under Ferenc Rados at the prestigious Liszt Academy in Budapest. This discipline informs his "rhythmic editing" philosophy, a tension-driven approach where musical sensibility dictates the editorial structure.
Matteo’s career reflects a commitment to both craft and cultural inquiry. He has edited and produced for major platforms, serving as motion picture editor for director Julie Dash on multiple projects, including HomeGoing (produced through MOCA) and her film for Vogue. His credits also include the CBC documentary An Improbable Dream, which garnered a Telly Award for his motion picture editing. His directorial work includes the ethnographic film Summon Back the Sun and the award-winning Ten Days with Art. Currently, he is exploring the intersection of authorship and emerging technology in LIMINAL INTELLIGENCE, a film-essay series examining human presence in the age of AI. Born in Flint, Michigan to an immigrant household, Matteo brings an ethic of discipline and a holistic, multidisciplinary, and multicultural perspective to every project.
